Contractor Training Florida certified and registered contractors are required to complete fourteen hours board-approved continuing education each biennium prior to the renewal period. "At least one hour must deal with workplace safety, one hour on the subject of worker's compensation, one hour on the subject of business practices and one hour on Florida Building Code advanced modules." A person who holds more than one certificate or registration issued by the board is required to complete the continuing education requirements only once during each biennial certification renewal period and only once during each biennial registration period. Electrical Fundamentals (general): 4.0 Hours. Four Lessons:

Wind Mitigation: 1.0 Hours. This course reflects Florida wind mitigations changes made in legislation as of November 15th, 2007. This is a one hour course designed to present these changes on such as way as to elaborate on rules and law.
Engineer: Florida Engineers are required to take eight hours of board-approved Professional Development Hours (PDH) continuing education credit every two years by February 28th. Four hours must be Laws & Rules of Chapter 471 and 61G15 F.A.C. and four hours of Areas of Practice. The license biennium is from March 1, 2007 through February 28, 2010. NEC 2008 Code Update: 5.0 hours. The Changes to the National Electrical Code (NEC) 2008 course is designed for persons performing electrical work.

Florida Chapter 471 Statutes for Engineering: This course examines the requirements for the practice of Engineering in the state of Florida as set out in FL Chapter 471. Topics covered in the course include the licensing qualifications and requirements for engineering practice, exemptions from licensure requirements, the licensure process, renewal and reactivation of licenses, the Florida Building Code Training for Engineers, the Board of Professional Engineers, licensing fees, examinations and prerequisites, authorization for engineers to enter lands of third parties, prohibitions, penalties, and disciplinary proceedings.

OSHA 10/30 Hour Outreach Training: OSHA recommends Outreach training Program courses as an orientation to occupational safety and health for all workers. The successful completion of this course will help to meet the Construction Industry standards established by OSHA. Upon completion of the 10-hour and 30-hour course, you will receive a completion card from the Department of Labor within 4-8 weeks. An Authorized OSHA Outreach trainer is available to answer any questions students may have while taking the online course.
Industrial Skills: In fiscal year 2009, OSHA assessed the highest penalties related to fall protection, scaffolding, control of hazardous energy (lockout/tagout), excavations, machines, general duty clause, management of hazardous materials, ladders, powered industrial trucks and aerial lifts.
